Mechanism of Action

Selank is a heptapeptide analog of tuftsin with an added stabilizing sequence. It modulates GABAergic, serotonergic, and dopaminergic systems. It influences BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) expression and enkephalinase activity. It has an anxiolytic effect without sedation or dependence, unlike benzodiazepines.

Cognitive improvement

Under research

Animal studies and some clinical trials suggest improvements in memory and concentration. Increases BDNF expression.

Immunomodulation

Under research

As a tuftsin analog, it has documented immunomodulatory properties in preclinical studies.
