Mechanism of Action

Sermorelin binds to GHRH receptors in the anterior pituitary, stimulating the synthesis and pulsatile release of growth hormone. It preserves the natural negative feedback of the GH-IGF-1 axis, unlike exogenous GH which suppresses endogenous production.

Análogo do GHRH (1-29). Estimula secreção pulsátil fisiológica de GH. Mais seguro que GH exógeno para uso prolongado.

Benefits

Physiological GH increase

Proven

FDA-approved (1997-2008) for GH deficiency. Stimulates natural GH release while maintaining the physiological pulsatile pattern.

Improved body composition

Proven

Clinical studies demonstrate increased lean mass and reduced body fat with prolonged use.

Improved sleep quality

Under research

Clinical reports of improved deep sleep (slow-wave sleep), the phase during which GH is naturally released the most.

Risks and Side Effects

Injection site pain

Low(Common)

Most reported side effect. Generally mild.

Facial flushing

Low(Uncommon)

Transient flushing after injection.

Internet vs. Science

What people say online compared to the actual scientific evidence.

Better and safer than HGH

Partially true

What they claim

Sermorelin gives all the benefits of HGH without the risks.

Actual evidence

Stimulates natural GH (safer than exogenous GH which suppresses endogenous production), but the GH levels achieved are lower. It was FDA-approved, which gives it more credibility than many peptides. Commercially discontinued for market reasons, not safety concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why was Geref discontinued?

The manufacturer (Serono/EMD) voluntarily discontinued Geref in 2008 for commercial reasons (small market), not due to safety or efficacy problems. The peptide remains available through compounding pharmacies in the US.
